The foundation of Emilia Josifova in Vidin is passionately committed to establishing a safe and inclusive environment where children and adults with disabilities and their families can feel comfortable and secure. Our latest project, converting a building into a centre for social rehabilitation and integration for children and adults with disabilities in Vidin, aims to transform a run-down building into a modern, barrier-free day facility.
Reconstruction plan

Water supply: installation of a water and sewage system with connection to the city sewer

Sanitary facilities: installation of an accessible toilet and three additional toilets

Medical room: setting up a medical treatment room

Therapy rooms: renovating spaces for therapy and social integration
Project goals

Safe place for development: The renovated building is to serve as a refuge for children and adults with disabilities and their families, away from prejudice and barriers.

Therapy and rehabilitation: Provision of targeted therapy and rehabilitation services by trained professionals, to foster the development and wellbeing of each person.

Social integration: The day facility offers a platform for encounters between people with and without disabilities, in order to promote an inclusive society.

Infrastructure development: Renovation of the building, installation of modern sanitary facilities, and creation of spaces for medical and therapeutic care.

Raising awareness: Sensitization of the community about the needs and rights of people with disabilities.
Significance of the project
People with disabilities and their families often face significant challenges such as social exclusion, financial burdens, and a lack of accessible facilities. This project provides a solution by creating a safe space in which people with disabilities can develop their abilities and feel like valued members of society. Through a holistic approach combining therapy, education, and social integration, we want to sustainably improve the lives of these people and promote an inclusive society in which everyone is welcome.
