Mischo is 18 years old and lives in Sofia in a supported youth home.
He hasn’t seen his parents since he was five. He has development problems and is mentally immature. Despite many setbacks in his life, he dreams of helping others – as a psychologist or social worker. He writes poetry, seeks stability, and a future worth striving for.
My Story
My name is Mischo. For the past year, I’ve been living in a family-style centre for young people in Sofia. I never really knew my parents. I’m trying to finish school, but life can be very heavy at times.
I receive 90 Bulgarian leva per month from the state – barely enough for food, books, or clothes. I write poems and dream of doing something meaningful one day: maybe as a psychologist or social worker. I know I still have a lot to learn – but I want to grow. And I don’t want to give up.
