Educational Support for Children in the Pazardjik Region

In the Pazardjik region, we support children who grow up in particularly challenging social conditions. Many have experienced violence, neglect, or unstable family environments. Targeted educational support is therefore essential to help them keep up at school, build self-confidence, and develop new perspectives for their future.

Our support focuses both on children living in residential care and on pupils in rural areas, where access to learning materials is very limited.

Our support in the Pazardjik region

Children’s home in Pazardjik

A small residential home in Pazardjik cares for orphans and children from very difficult backgrounds, primarily from Roma communities. In addition to a safe environment, the children need educational support to catch up academically and improve their future opportunities.

Educational trip to the Natural History Museum in Plovdiv – 2025

From March 31 to April 4, 2025, ten children from the Pazardjik home visited the Natural History Museum and the Old Town of Plovdiv. The trip combined learning with cultural experiences and gave the children valuable impressions beyond their everyday lives.

Summer camp in Velingrad – 2024
A particular highlight was the summer camp in Velingrad. Ten children spent a week filled with cultural activities, museum visits, and experiences in nature. These shared moments created lasting memories and brought joy and inspiration.

Learning boards for tutoring – 2023
With 17 high-quality and durable learning boards in subjects such as mathematics and Bulgarian language—including fractions, multiplication, spelling, and sentence structure—additional tutoring at the family-type residential center in Pazardjik was significantly expanded and strengthened.

Support for schools in rural areas – 2025

We support two schools with pupils from grades 1 to 7 in the villages of Medeni Polyani and Pobit Kamak in the municipality of Sarnitsa by helping them acquire compulsory school books. There are no libraries in either village. In order to study the literary works required by the curriculum, families have to purchase the books themselves—an expense that many cannot afford. With our support, the schools will be able to provide the required compulsory literature, ensuring equal access to education for all children, regardless of their social background.
