An Evening of Culture, Solidarity and Joy: Benefit Event with Bulgarian Folk Dances on December 13 at GZ Buchegg

On December 13, 2025, a special benefit evening took place in the large hall of GZ Buchegg in Zurich. With 180 guests, a sold-out venue, and a warm, supportive atmosphere, the evening was a great success. People came together to experience culture, celebrate – and support a good cause.

Powerful performances and great enthusiasm

The Christmas-inspired programme captivated the audience from the very beginning. The energetic Bulgarian folk dances performed by the ensemble Ludi-Mladi, the impressive contributions of the Swiss Bulgarian Choir, and other artists created emotional moments and long-lasting applause.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Milena Tsenova and the entire Ludi-Mladi ensemble, the Swiss Bulgarian Choir, Bart Vandenhoeck for the wonderful photographs, and Boris Buchholzer for his valuable support.

Dancing brings people together

After the concert, the evening continued in an interactive way. During a short dance workshop followed by the Horoteka, all guests were invited to join in and dance. Many accepted the invitation and transformed the hall into a place full of movement, laughter and shared joy. These moments clearly showed the unifying power of music and dance.

Tangible impact thanks to your support

Thanks to the generous support of everyone present, almost CHF 6,000 were raised during the evening. The proceeds will benefit the following projects:

• Two schools in the villages of Medeni Polyani and Pobit Kamak (municipality of Sarnitsa, southern Bulgaria) – for the purchase of books for their school libraries
  

  

  

• Our sponsorship program, which currently provides monthly support to six children and young people

• The annual art workshop for disadvantaged children and children with autism in the village of Kovachevitsa

• The Center for Social Rehabilitation and Integration in Vidin

• A children’s home in Pazardjik

Every donation makes a direct contribution to the development, education and support of children in difficult life situations.
